Last night, at the Flora Exposition Center, Mayor Dimitar Nikolov awarded prominent cultural figures from Burgas at an official ceremony.
Traditionally, this happens on the eve of May 24, due to objective circumstances, however, the award ceremony was postponed to this day.

Prof. Hikmet Mehmedov was awarded special prizes for outstanding achievements in the cultural sphere - for his overall contribution to contemporary Bulgarian cultural life - through the realization of large-scale and intelligently presented dance performances, which celebrated its 70th anniversary on June 4, this year. Special awards for overall contribution were given to the great Bulgarian poet and playwright Nedyalko Yordanov, who is celebrating his 80th birthday this year, and maestro Stefan Diomov, who has been an epoch in the field of Bulgarian popular song in recent decades.

The choirmaster of the STATE OPERA - BURGAS - Nevena Mihaylova was awarded a prize for high creative achievements - as a conductor of the choir of the Burgas Opera.
Prof. Hikmet Mehmedov expressed gratitude - both to the mayor of Burgas, for awarding the high award, and to the director of the State Opera - Burgas Alexander Tekeliev and the entire staff of the Burgas Opera - for the long-term fruitful creative cooperation. The renowned choreographer and director expressed his hope for a peaceful world in which there will be an opportunity for the creative expression of talents.
The choirmaster of the State Opera - Burgas thanked - both on his own behalf and on behalf of the Burgas Opera, and stressed that in syncretic art such as opera, success is common and she considers the award an achievement of the entire staff of the cultural institution.
Mayor Dimitar Nikolov, who is known for his attitude to culture and its role, stressed that he highly values ​​Burgas artists and they deserve due respect and gratitude - for their mission to maintain the spirit.
