31 march 2025 The Opera House Supports The Opening of a Branch of NATFIZ

Today, March 31, a meeting of the municipal administration leadership with representatives of state cultural institutes and the independent sector in the field of performing arts was held in the Meeting Hall of the Municipality of Burgas - in connection with the upcoming accreditation for the opening of a branch of the National Academy of Performing Arts and Film Arts "Krustyo Sarafov" in the seaside city in the professional field of "Theatre and Film Art" with two bachelor's and four master's programs.
To ensure their provision, at a regular session of the Municipal Council in February of this year, it was unanimously decided to provide halls in the National Theatre Cultural Center and the Youth Cultural Center, with the admission of students scheduled to begin in the 2025/2026 academic year.
The meeting today was attended by: Prof. Maria Neykova, Regional Governor of Burgas Region, Dimitar Nikolov - Mayor of Burgas Municipality, Mihail Nenov, Deputy Mayor with the Department of "Education, Social Activities and Youth Policies", Diana Savateva, Deputy Mayor for "Culture and Religions", representatives of the management of the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation (NAEA) - a body under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria that controls the activities of higher education institutions and scientific organizations, representatives of the management of NATAFF, representatives of the Municipality of Yambol and the Municipality of Sliven, directors of Burgas cultural institutes, secondary schools, NUMSI "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov", artists from the independent artistic sector, etc.
The Administrative Director of the Burgas State Opera - Svetlana Krysteva Svetlana Krysteva stated the full support of the Burgas Cultural Institute in connection with providing a field for practical creative activities - especially in the field of musical production, where acting is fundamental and necessary for creation of a quality stage product, as well as in the rich repertoire of children's titles of the Burgas Opera.
The management of the State Opera - Burgas has also expressed its sympathy for the cause in the Letter of Support in connection with the opening of a branch of the National Academy of Performing Arts and Performing Arts in the city of Burgas, which states the following:
"For us as a cultural institution, it is a particular joy to support the memorandum between the Municipality of Burgas and the National Academy of Performing Arts and Performing Arts "Krustyo Sarafov" for the opening of a branch of the Academy in Burgas. This opens up exceptional prospects for attracting talented young people to the team of the State Opera - Burgas. Burgas is a city of arts and creativity - let's create together an opportunity for talents to realize and develop, to create beauty and creative content here, where they draw inspiration and give flight to their dreams."
We wish success to the accreditation procedure, as the presence of another prestigious higher education institution in our city and the presence of students from the entire eastern region of the country, and from all over Bulgaria, would be not only a plus for the cultural life and economy of Burgas, but also a serious plus in connection with the candidacy of our seaside city for European Capital of Culture in 2032.
