08 march 2024 The Opera Will Be To The Rhythm Of The WIENER BLUT Waltz

The cheerful and positive-messaging music of Johann Strauss-son will be heard on Tuesday, March 12, at 7 p.m. in the hall of the Burgas Opera in "Viennese Blood". The story, which will be told through the means of attractive and captivating operetta art, is a classic one - infidelity, a series of intrigues, funny divergences, plot twists, situations filled with banter and fresh humor, and of course - a magnificence of musical and visual messages. In addition to the glamorous and universally loved music of Strauss, which is not only popular sounding, but also brings finesse, and attitudes to grab life's joys and turn them into permanent happiness, the production of "Blood of Vienna" is also attractive in terms of stage design and costumes – they will transport the audience to an aristocratic ball in a Vienna mansion in the middle of the 19th century.

It is a well-known fact that the art of operetta is complex and requires complex qualities from singers - not only vocal capabilities but also adequate behavior on stage, artistry, choreographic skills, and... a pinch of the invisible substance without which no one can be born a quality performance - undeniable talent and desire to create art.

Behind the conductor's desk in the attractive performance on March 12 is maestro Deyan Pavlov /guest/, who also conducts "Gypsy Baron", and "Love Story", as well as other performances and concerts of the Burgas Opera, and is always warmly received - both by the audience, as well as by the orchestrators and artists themselves. The direction of the production, captivating with its aristocratic charm, dynamism, and wonderful costumes, fully maintained in the style of the era, is by Mario Nikolov, who is known not only for his numerous roles on native and foreign stages but also as the author and presenter of the show for classical music and jazz "Timeless Music" on BNT. The scenography of the production is by Ivan Tokadzhiev - an emblematic name in the field of scenography for musical and performing arts, the costume designer is another no less titled artist who, unfortunately, is no longer with us - Tsvetanka Stoynova. The conductor of the artists from the choir is Alexander Chepanov, the dances are the work of Galina Kalcheva, the concertmaster is Hristo Belchev, the assistant director is Lina Peeva, the tutor of the ballet ensemble is Marina Zmeeva-Markova.

The Burgas audience is eagerly awaiting the debut of soprano Nona Krastnikova and tenor Yani Nikolov in the roles of Countess and Count Cidlau. The stage tandem had its debut in another operetta title by Strauss-son - "Gypsy Baron" - to a full Summer Theater during the Burgas Music Festival "Emil Chakerov" 2023 in August, and with the attractive title, also directed by Mario Nikolov, the new Season 2023/2024 was opened in the Opera hall at the beginning of October 2023. During the summer season, the two soloists of the Burgas Opera performed brilliantly and on tour with the concert performance "Love Story" - with music from French classical cinema, also participated in the operetta gala "Love, champagne and can-can" scripted and directed by Mario Nikolov and conducted by maestro Stracimir Pavlov, which closed the Burgas Music Festival 2023.

The wonderful soprano Nona Krastnikova, who has in her repertoire several roles from world opera titles, in "Gypsy Baron" sang in an operetta for the first time, not only being able to professionally build the vocal part of Safi, full of difficulty and requiring a wide vocal range, but also delivered the role with artistry, flair, banter, and finesse. And a lot of love for the created image, which was palpable. The young tenor Yani Nikolov, for whom the role of Sandor Barinkai is also his debut, approached the image with extreme respect and detailed insight, discovering intriguing facts about the Bulgarian origin of the treasure, which is a cornerstone in the plot of "Gypsy Baron". Yani Nikolov performed the difficult part with ease and undisguised pleasure, and vocally he was flawless.

In addition to stage brilliance and sensational costumes and effects, the performance of "Blood of Vienna" also guarantees a first-class artistic cast - in addition to the two debutants in the roles, such as Franciska Cagliari, the soprano Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova appears on the stage in the role of Prince Ipsheim-Hindelbach the baritone Yordan Hristozov will appear, we will see Branimir Nedkov, baritone, as the playful beauty Pepi, the soprano Shmilena Sultanova will perform, the bass Petar Tikholov will perform as Kagler, Kalina Popova, mezzo-soprano will appear on the stage as Mali, the role is also her debut, Count Bitovsky will be Alexander Perperiev.
