The musical Kiss Me Kate! Will officially close the 2019 Emil Chakarov Musical Feasts, realized by the State Opera - Burgas, in a long successful partnership with the Municipality of Burgas.

The premiere of the attractive production of music by American composer Cole Porter and the immortal Shakespearean comedy "Taming of the Shrew" will allow fans of intriguing storylines, alternating comic situations with criminal ties and unexpected plot twists and turns .2019, from 8 pm on the stage of the Summer Theater - Burgas!

 About the musical:

  "Kiss me, Kate!" is the first musical in which music and lyrics adhere closely to the plot of the plot, with the libretto of Shakespeare's masterpiece Taming the Weasel. This is Cole Porter's greatest hit and his only musical to be played more than 1000 times on Broadway. With "Kiss Me, Kate!" the composer commemorates his creative return and professional triumph - in 1949 Porter won the Tony Award for Musical and for Best Text and Music. Work on this performance also brings to mind the writing tandem of spouses Bella and Samuel Spivak, who created the libretto - two Toni awards - for best musical and best libretto. All this causes the transformation of "Kiss Me, Kate!" in the unrivaled classics of this genre and its history as the first musical to win this prestigious award.

Edelina Kaneva was born in Sofia and is a graduate of the State Art Academy "P.Vladigerov". The singer makes her debut on stage at the Burgas State Opera. The following are 3 seasons in which she is involved in the opera in Leipzig. Since 1996 he has been the premier soloist at the National Theater "Stefan Makedonski". Her repertoire includes the central parties in the operas "Troubadour", "Tosca", "Figaro's Wedding", "Don Juan", "Bat", "Gypsy Baron", "Countess Maritza", "The Land of Smiles", "The Queen of Smiles" Chardash, "The Great Unknown," Cats, "Some Like It Hot," Westside Story, "The Wolf and the Seven Goats." He is a guest soloist with symphony orchestras with the oratorical repertoire. There are recordings for National Radio and National Television.

Edelina Kaneva is a music producer of a series of Christmas concerts for BNT and BNT 2, initiator and participant of projects in jazz and pop music. She worked on the project of the French Ministry of Culture "K and the Road to the Castle" - a contemporary opera by Carol Befa, based on the novel by Fafka.

Since 2012 he has been a lecturer at the Lyubomir Pipkov National Music University, majoring in pop and jazz singing, and since 2017 he has been a music director at Alexandra Audio.

She has toured successfully in Japan, Germany, France, Spain, Israel, and many others. From 2000 to 2010 he was a regular guest soloist at Teatro Lirico D 'Europa and the Mozart Festival Opera in the United States. She has participated in numerous festivals in Apollonia, Sofia Music Weeks, Art Salon, Varna Summer and festivals in Greece, Israel, and Germany.

In 2018, Edelina Kaneva is part of the hugely successful project of Sofia Opera and Ballet, “Mamma Mia”, directed by Acad. Plamen Kartalov, in which she plays the main role of Donna Sheridan.

 

Marcho Apostolov was born in Varna in 1970. He graduated from 4 Frederic Joliot-Curie Language School in Varna and continued his education at Dobri Hristov Secondary Music School in Varna. Graduate of the State Music Academy "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov "- Sofia, Marcho Apostolov made his professional debut in 1994 in the title parts of the operas Orpheus by Claudio Monteverdi and Abu Hassan by Karl Maria von Weber.

Since 1998, as a soloist at the State Music Theater "Stefan Makedonski" - Sofia, he has performed central heroic and characteristic characters in both classical operetta and musical titles from the repertoire of the theater.

He has performed as a soloist at the Sofia, Plovdiv, Sliven and Vratsa Philharmonic. Since 2001 he has been invited to representative performances of the National Opera and Ballet - Sofia, as well as the Plovdiv, Varna, Rousse and Burgas operas. As a soloist at the State Music Theater and the National Opera, he has participated in numerous festivals and international events. He has also participated in independent music projects of various creative formations in and outside Bulgaria. Records have been made for National Radio, National Television, and GEGA New.

Since 2017 he is a full-time doctoral student at the vocal faculty of the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov "- Sofia and a full-time assistant at the Department of Music and Performing Arts.

 

Maria Tsvetkova-Madzharova was born in Burgas. He graduated from the State Art School "Professor Pancho Vladigerov" - Sofia in the class of opera singing by Prof. Resa Koleva. Soloist of State Opera - Rousse and State Opera - Burgas. She has performed on the stages of the National Opera-Sofia, the State Music Theater "Stefan Makedonski" - Sofia, as well as in the theaters of Varna Opera, Plovdiv Opera, Stara Zagora Opera. He has repeatedly participated in international touring projects in Italy, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, USA. The singer's rich repertoire includes Susanna and the Countess of Figaro's Wedding, Despina, Fiordiligi of So Do All Women, Donna Anna, Zerlina of Don Juan, Blonde, Constanza of Mozart's Saplings, Rosina from Rossini's Seville Barber, La Traviata's Violetta, Rigoletto's Gilda, Verdi's Mask Ball, Masculine Elixir's Adina, Don Pasquale's Donizetti, Musetta and Mimi from Bohemia, Liu from Turandot to Puccini, Stasi and Silva from Kalman's Chardash Queen, Adela to Str's Bat son-in-law, Maria Desislava from Parashkev Hadzhiev's opera of the same name, Katerina Izmailova of Shostakovich's opera of the same name and others. Nona Krustnikova graduated from the singing department of Prof. Mila Dyulgerova at the National Academy of Music "Pancho Vladigerov" and has worked with her as a vocal educator. She has specialized as a Fellow in Modena, Italy, with Raina Kabaivanska and in an opera studio in Graz, Austria. She has participated in master classes of Anna Tomova Sintova (2011, 2014, 2015), Kiri te Kanava and Federika von Stadt (2008), for a German song under Professor Hartmut Nol and others. Won the third prize at the Mirabent I Magrans International Competition (2014, Sitges, Barcelona); at the International Competition for Young Opera Singers "Boris Hristov" the same year, Grand Prix at the "Crown of Turnovo" and third prize at the International Competition for Songs Duo "Alza Respighi" Verona, Italy.

Nona Krustnikova is a full-time soloist at the Burgas Opera, where she has more than ten lead roles as Mimi from the opera Bohemia, Tosca and Madame Butterfly from the operas of the same name by Giacomo Puccini, Amelia from the Mask Ball by Giuseppe Verdi, Countess in "The Wedding of Figaro, Don Elvira in Don Giovanni and Fiordiligi in So Do All by VA Mozart, Michaela at Carmen by Georges Bizet, etc. Since 2011 he has formed a collage duo with pianist Maria Ruseva. In October The 2015 Collage duo wins the third prize at the Elsa Respigie Song Contest in Verona, Italy.

 

Shmilena Sultanova graduated from the AMTI - Plovdiv with a degree in opera singing under Prof. Kalina Zhekova. Since 1998 he has been a soloist of the Konstantin Kisimov MDT - Veliko Tarnovo. In 2004 he performed as a soloist at the State Opera - Burgas. He is a regular guest soloist at the State Opera - Stara Zagora and the State Opera - Varna. Her repertoire includes Fenena in Nabucco, Don Elvira in Don Juan, Longing in Longing, Countess in Figaro's Wedding, Rosina in The Barber of Seville, Dorobela in "Everybody Do It", Silva in "The Queen the Chardasha, Anna Glavari in The Merry Widow, Helena in The Beautiful Helena, Maritza in Countess Maritza, Angel in the Count von Luxembourg and many more.
