On Friday, July 3, from 7.30 pm, in the place that has become the traditional place for concert performances for the soloists of the State Opera - Burgas at the beginning of the summer season - Exposition Center "Flora", will sound unforgettable hits that have become classics and united by the common thematic idea "Retro". The concert is part of the program of cultural and tourist weekends organized by the Municipality of Burgas, and this week the retro idea will be the connecting link in various cultural, culinary, sporting events, an exhibition of retro cars, etc. Retro is not only a style, but it is also a certain direction of thought, which gives nuance to the overall look and embedded emotion.
The program of the concert on Friday night includes both iconic songs by Frank Sinatra and French chansons, Italian canzonets, favorite melodies that have become part of our emotional background - such as we can sing at any moment, bringing back memories and exciting experiences, like in the movie from a romantic movie from the '50s…
In the garden of the Expo Center "Flora", where on Sunday, June 28, the soloists of the State Opera - Burgas presented the brilliant opera concert "Toast", you will have the opportunity to hear the soprano Lyudmila Mihaylova, with Over The Rainbow - the famous musical theme. music by Harold Arlen from The Wizard of Oz, in which Judy Garland's performance as Dorothy remains in the world's musical treasury as an aesthetic and emotional gem. Maria Tsvetkova-Madzharova, soprano, will present French songs, characterized by finesse, elegant attitude to life, sophistication, and beautiful melody: Les Chemins di l'amour / Roads of Love /, "Lights of the City" by Francis Poulenc and Youkali - tango -habanera by Kurt Weil. Soprano Nona Krasnikova will hear performances of Sarabaya Johnny and Funeral Blues, also by German composer Kurt Weil, and Johnny by Benjamin Britton. Joanna Kadiyska, mezzo-soprano, will perform Je ne t’aime pas by Kurt Weil and Man I Love by George Gershwin, two titles that sound like an oxymoron, a joke to the audience. Yani Nikolov, tenor, will sing the beautiful Italian canzonetta Parlami D’Amore Mariu by Cesare Bixio. Baritone Branimir Nedkov will present "Bianca" by Cole Porter and the beloved song from the 70s Parla Piu Piano by Nino Rota. Yordan Hristozov, baritone, will be in the role not only of a singer but also of a guitarist - with "It's Hot" by the American composer Cole Porter. Bassist Diman Panchev will perform Besame Mucho by Velazquez and Strangers In The Night, one of Frank Sinatra's most beloved songs. For the emotional finale of the concert "Retro", the soloists of the State Opera - Burgas have chosen "Alabama" by Kurt Weil.
Vesela Apostolova, Vanina Dimitrova, Kalina Popova, and Stefka Hristozova, also take part in the retro program. On the piano - Daria Krasteva.which a few days ago, on June 24, debuted as a soloist of the orchestra of the State Opera - Burgas, with his performance of Concerto for Piano and Orchestra №12 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
