02 june 2026 Soloists From NUMSI "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" at the Concert
An intriguing concert program, performed by talented young participants, has been prepared by the State Opera – Burgas for Thursday, June 4, at 7 p.m. in the hall of the Cultural Institute. The symphonic concert, in which graduates of the National Music and Drama School “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” – Burgas, winners of numerous national and international awards, will perform as soloists, is another exciting performance by the artistic staff of the Burgas Opera. Behind the conductor's podium stands Kalina Vasileva /guest/, known to the Burgas audience from the Symphonic Concert with music by Borislava Taneva and Petya Toncheva – in March and "Gypsy Baron" – in May of this year, and the accompaniment of the State Opera – Burgas orchestra. The concert event will be a celebration of talent, embodied in a bright stage presence and incomparable enthusiasm of youth. The concertmaster of the Burgas Opera Orchestra will be Vanya Zlateva, winner of the "Golden Necklace" and a Special Award for Overall Contribution from the Union of Bulgarian Music and Dance Artists /SBMTD/.
Under the baton of Kalina Vasileva, the graduates of the Music School, which in March of this year celebrates its 65th anniversary on the stage of the Burgas Opera with two large-scale concerts, will show not only certainty in the interpretation of the works, but also awareness in their choice of professional role, which is a combination of talent, purposefulness, dedication, selfless consistency and endless dedication to the creative process.
"Such concerts are among the best because they combine youthful enthusiasm with years of professional experience. A symbiosis is created between the young soloists and the orchestra, from which all of us – both participants and audience – receive great satisfaction and joy from the shared music. We are charged with the purest emotions and energy that remain with us for a long time afterwards," says Maestro Vasileva before the concert.
A host of soloists will enchant the Burgas audience on June 4th – with their performing skills and the typical incomparable creative energy characteristic of the young generation. On the stage of the Opera on Thursday, the following pianists will perform: Boris Dimitrov, Virginia Spiridonova, Svetlozara Spasova, Steliyan Zhelev, Yaroslava Anurova, violinist Vladimir Meranliev, who a few days ago was a soloist at the Solemn Concert on the occasion of May 24 under the baton of Maestro Yordan Dafov in the Opera hall, when he brilliantly performed Rhapsody "Vardar" by Pancho Vladigerov, and Vera Maslennikova - zugtrombon.
The program of the Symphonic Concert under the baton of Maestra Kalina Vasileva includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ferdinand David, and Henryk Wieniawski.
"Talent, hard work, virtuosity and finesse - you will find all this in the performances of: Vera Maslennikova (zugtrombone), a student in grade 9 - teacher Todor Madzharov, Boris Dimitrov (piano), grade 11 - with teacher Georgi Spasov, Vladimir Meranliev (violin), student in grade 10 - teacher Lyudmila Ivanova, Yaroslava Anurova (piano), grade 9 - with teacher Yana Raycheva, Virginia Spiridonova (piano), grade 9 - teacher Yana Raycheva, Svetlozara Spasova (piano), grade 4 - teacher Georgi Spasov, Steliyan Zhelev (piano), grade 7 - teacher Albena Kavardzhikova. It is no coincidence that pianists predominate among the soloists. They remind us how important the cause "A New Concert Grand for the Talents of Burgas" is, which unites our school and all friends of music in the city throughout the school year. We believe that talent deserves a stage, and big dreams – an instrument worthy of them. Thanks to our partnership with the State Opera – Burgas, our students get the opportunity for regular appearances on a professional stage and free access to the opera performances. We expect you to support the young musicians together and share an evening dedicated to talent, music, and the future. This is the emotional address to the Burgas cultural community by the management of NUMSI "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" – Burgas.
The students of the National School of Music and Performing Arts will show not only certainty in the interpretation of the works, but also awareness in their choice of professional role, which is a combination of talent, purposefulness, dedication, consistency, and endless dedication to the creative process. The concert is expected to be attended by a sympathetic and understanding audience, respecting the talent of the young performers and their dedicated work invested in the process of building them as musicians worthy of the big stage, and will admire the artistic charm of the dedicated instrumentalists, whom the Burgas audience will have the pleasure of seeing and hearing on Thursday. At the beginning of 2026, an Agreement was concluded between the management of the State Opera - Burgas and NUMSI "Pancho Vladigerov" - for creative exchange in all areas, with graduates of the Music School having the right to attend all events of the Opera completely free of charge. Such manifestations of continuity have significant advantages for both parties, such as the exchange of experience and creative energy.
Those attending the concert on June 4 will see for themselves that the wonderful graduates of NUMSI "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" are carriers of the most constructive qualities of the representatives of the young generation.
Good luck to the young performers and successful performances on even bigger stages!
