30 december 2019 Another Successful Year For The State Opera - Burgas Ends

The last days of 2019 are over. It ends with creative satisfaction for the State Opera - Burgas.
This year was not only a busy schedule - in the calendar of performances, tours with many Bulgarian cities, but also as a quality of premiere titles, presented with great success and with a serious request for a long stage life.
Indisputable highlights that have left a lasting resonance in the cultural life, not only locally, in the program of the Burgas Opera were: the awarding with the prestigious Golden Muse Award of the Association of Choreographers in Bulgaria for the ballet "Bayadere", under the direction of Tonova weight; the opening of Burgas Musical Feasts "Emil Chakarov" with the concert of the world primal Veselina Katsarova and friends; the imposing performance of Norma by Belini amidst the natural decor of Begliktash, which is the start of an opera festival taking place during the summer season at the Thracian sanctuary; the awarding of the Emil Chakarov Prize to Maestro Grigor Palikarov during the production of the Mask Ball on the stage of the Summer Theater; the brilliant premiere of Cole Porter's musical "Kiss Me, Kate" under the direction of Alexander Tekeliev - the official closing of the Summer Music Holidays, the successful tour of the production in Gorna Oryahovitsa, Plovdiv and, most of all - the memorable performance at the National Theater "- on November 19th, an event that will be talked about for a long time and which has received affectionate praise from both the highly specialized and the general public.

The new 2019/2020 Season was opened with an impressive "Autumn Palette" gala concert, no less exciting was the opera gala dedicated to the work of Giuseppe Verdi - VIVA VERDI, in early December. The two large-scale events were conducted by the young maestro Tsanislav Petkov, who received the Burgas Municipality Award for his special contribution to the development of the cultural institution - on the occasion of the Day of Slavic Literacy and Culture on May 24.
The premiere concert "Without Love Cannot", under the conductor baton of maestro Levon Manukyan, under the screenplay of Yulia Manukyan, with the special participation of Nencho Balabanov and Sonia Kovchezlieva, also took place at the full hall of the Opera Hall.
The ballet troupe at the State Opera - Burgas was also not successful. Apart from the high recognition for "Bayadere", the performance "Romeo and Juliet by Sergei Prokofiev, staged by Prof. Hikmet Mehmedov, restoration - Vesa Tonova, was sent with constant applause and superlatives by the competent international audience on the stage of the Summer Theater. during the summer musical holidays "Emil Chakarov", and the traditional Christmas production of the Nutcracker/production - Prof. Hikmet Mehmedov, tutor - Galina Kalcheva / was a glorious end to the calendar year for ballet composition in the Burgas Opera.

An exciting code of the year was the Christmas Concert Holiday, conducted by Maestro Yordan Dafov, with the starring participation of Georgi Hristov, Edelina Kaneva, Marcho Apostolov, Fortissimo Vocal Formation. The small graces of the children's ballet school "Marina Zmeeva" and the young singers of the Milka Stoeva Children's Choir, of course, accompanied by the magnificent orchestra and choir of the State Opera - Burgas - who, together with the soloists, are indisputable professionals and individuals committed to the cause of high art, with an aesthetic-emotional impact on those who are in contact with its purifying power.

In the past year, the youngest spectators of the Burgas Opera were not forgotten - besides their favorite performances, played on the Burgas stage and during the tours in other Bulgarian cities -
"Alice in Wonderland", "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", "The Four Twins", "Pinocchio", "Pagliacci", the premier children's musical performance Max and Moritz has already become a hit for children. It officially ended the creative calendar year of the State Opera - Burgas, and at the end of the performance, Santa Claus rejoiced the children of the audience with the desired gifts and wishes to remain true to the musical and performing arts, which enriched them and made them more ennobled and good.

Expect you, dear fans of classical music, and in the next 2020 year, in February, when our artists will return after their annual leave - charged and ready to give you unprecedented talent and charge to you, the audience without whom art cannot live and have the same powerful creative power!
